G4SLKGCH

The G4SLKGCH command is used to retrieve channel history. 

When the history is retrieved the results are placed in the G4SLKCHPF file.  The text of each message will be placed in a stream file in the IFS named g4slk_hst_<id>.txt where <id> is a unique ID.

  • ID - Enter the Slack ID you wish to use to retrieve channel history.
  • Team - Enter the team associated with the ID to retrieve channel history.
  • Channel Name - Enter the channel name you wish to retrieve history from.
  • Channel - Enter the Channel ID you wish to retrieve history from.  Only the Channel Name or Channel ID is required, not both.
  • Latest - Enter the latest timestamp value you'd like to retrieve history for.  This value is inclusive.  If this is left blank it will default to "now". 
  • Oldest -  Enter the oldest timestamp value you'd like to retrieve history for.  This value is inclusive.  If this is left blank it will default to the beginning of the available history.
  • History Count - Enter the maximum number of history entries to retrieve.  The valid values are from 1 to 1000.
  • History Directory - Enter the fully qualified directory to place the history log messages in.  This defaults to /tmp.
  • Clear History - Specify *YES to clear any history records for the ID, Team and Channel used before retrieving more history. 
  • CCSID - Enter a CCSID for data translation.
  • Debug - Enter *YES to debug this command.
  • Debug File - Enter the fully qualified path and name of the IFS file to store the debug data.  If left blank the default of  /tmp/g4slk_<id>_getChannelHistory.txt. where <id> is the ID associated with the request.
